Dublin, Ireland - 24 June 2025:

Hansel will soon be available through Google Pay, bringing another layer of ease and convenience to cash gifting. Users will be able to integrate their Hansel card with Google Pay and allowing users to spend their cash gifts online or in-store more easily.

About Hansel:

Hansel is a cash gifting app and digital wallet that blends fintech innovation with emotional appeal.

Hansel Co-Founder and CEO Michael Mulhall said:

“After many years in the technology sector, I recognised a need for money transfers and cash gifts to feel more personal, rather than purely transactional in a digital world.”

At Hansel, we’re building a digital experience that makes monetary gifting feel personal, meaningful and thoughtful.  Just as the tradition of hanselling (giving a token of good luck) has crossed cultures and generations, Hansel, as an app, carries a promise of reigniting human connection. Whether it’s a surprise coffee for a colleague, a milestone birthday, a comforting gesture to a loved one or a “just because” moment, Hansel’s integration with Google Pay makes the process more secure and flexible.

As digital wallets grow in popularity globally, Hansel is aligning with consumer preferences for a smoother and quicker user experience, especially among Millennials and Gen Z users.

With Google Pay, Hansel users will soon be able to:

  • Check out faster with contactless payments, no re-entering card details
  • Benefit from encrypted transactions backed by Google’s fraud protection
  • Focus on personalising the gift, not managing the payment process

Hansel will begin offering Google Pay checkout to beta users in late June, with a full rollout planned for later this summer. Integration with Apple Pay is also on the roadmap.

Stay tuned for a revolution in cash gifting...
